Bio

Jill F. Dorsey is an of counsel attorney at Mathis, Marifian & Richter, Ltd., bringing more than 30 years of legal and business experience to the firm.  Jill’s legal practice focuses on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, commercial transactions, business litigation and strategic legal counsel.

Prior to joining MMR, Jill served as General Counsel at a publicly traded wireless telecommunications company during a period of significant growth. In that role, she oversaw SEC reporting, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and legal strategy while advising executive leadership and the board of directors.

Earlier in her career, Jill practiced with a national law firm specializing in corporate and telecommunications law. Her experience also includes extensive regulatory litigation involving large companies, including successful class action litigation that resulted in more than $340 million in recovery of back taxes and penalties.

In addition to her legal practice, Jill has extensive entrepreneurial and business experience. She has owned and operated a retail business, participated in commercial real estate development, and negotiated and managed commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, construction contracts, vendor agreements, and other business transactions.

Jill earned a Juris Doctor from George Washington University Law School and a B.S. in Business Economics & Public Policy from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She is admitted to practice law in Illinois.
