Belleville, IL, June 1, 2011. The law firm of Mathis, Marifian & Richter, Ltd. (MM&R), today announced that Brad Small, shareholder, was recently reappointed to and named chair of the Commercial Banking and Bankruptcy Law Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA).
The mission of the ISBA Commercial Banking, Collections and Bankruptcy Section Council is to promote professional excellence in the areas of commercial law, banking law and bankruptcy law; to provide practical information, monitor fields of interest and anticipate problems for the profession; and to promote excellence in practice through presentation of continuing legal education programs in areas of current interest to the profession.
Small, a longtime member of the ISBA and contributor to the Commercial Banking, Collections and Bankruptcy Section Council, focuses his practice on estate planning, banking law, commercial litigation, bankruptcy, real estate law and wills and trusts. Small has 33 years of experience in handling matters for financial institutions, commercial enterprises and individuals. He has represented clients in cases involving breach of contracts, collections, foreclosures, real estate transfers, corporate formations and drafting of wills and trusts.
