Belleville, IL, April 21, 2010. The Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) is proud to announce that Patrick B. Mathis, a shareholder of Mathis, Marifian & Richter, Ltd., has been selected as the recipient of the prestigious Addis Hull Award. The award is given by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education to recognize volunteers, like Mathis, who have shown their commitment to education and to promoting excellence in legal practice.
The award is named in honor of Addis Hull, one of IICLE's earliest and most fervent volunteers. Hull's dedication to IICLE's goals and extensive volunteer commitments serve as a shining example of service to the Illinois bar and, thereby, the public.
Mathis regularly writes for IICLE Press, especially regarding tax aspects of civil practice, and has been a featured speaker and contributor in planning for the annual Estate Planning Short Course, IICLE's flagship program for estate planning professionals, and other courses. With more than 30 years of legal experience, Mathis is always eager to discuss the finer points of practice with fellow members of the Illinois Bar, and tailors his presentations and writings to answer the profession's most pressing concerns. Not content to lend his expertise only to practicing attorneys, he also serves on the board of several educational and charitable foundations in Southern Illinois.
According to Nora Crandall, Executive Director of IICLE, "Mr. Mathis demands of himself the same standard when volunteering to provide practice guidance to fellow professionals eager to emulate his level of professional excellence and to attain comparable esteem among colleagues and clients. We are privileged to work with Mr. Mathis, and the Illinois bar benefits from his participation in educational programs and publications."
Mathis, Marifian & Richter, Ltd., is celebrating its 25th year serving businesses and individuals in Southern Illinois. The firm is deeply rooted in the community and dedicated to delivering superior, personalized service to every client, no matter how large or small.
